CustomerReviews

Good for light duty...
I bought this mixer with the intent of using it for all mixing needs including batters, cookie doughs and bread doughs mostly because it was basically one of the only ones that I could afford. It is great for cake batters and things you need whipped, like egg whites and creams...you'll have to stir a bit throughout because the beaters don't reach the bottom of the bowl, but mostly that's ok. I tried to make bread dough once and the machine shot a spark, smoke came out and the motor stopped. So, don't use this for any dough that is stiff. The hand mixer is very difficult and awkward to remove from the base, don't even try to do it while it's operating. Nice bowl though, I'm still using it even though the mixer is in the trash.

Pass on it if it's not too late.
It was all I could afford and I really needed a mixer with a little more muscle. If you can get something better, do! The beaters don't reach the bottom of the bowl and there's no way to adjust this like there is on the better made stand mixers. I was trying to make cookie icing in it and had to resort to using it as a hand mixer because it wasn't reaching any of the mixture in the bowl. Perhaps if they'd used a stainless steel bowl they'd have designed the beaters to go all the way down?

Two positive things about this product:

The bowl is really nice. Heavy, glass, SOLID. I may get rid of the stand because it seems to serve no purpose but I'll keep the bowl forever--and the mixer until I wear it out, of course. That is if I don't box the whole thing up and take it back to the store.

The whisk that comes with the mixer is even shorter than the beaters and is extremely flimsy. Unless you are whipping quite a bit of cream you won't be able to use this as a stand mixer and even then you'll have to stir and scrape the bowl constantly.

When off its stand, the mixer itself rests very well on its back end, reminds me of an iron. That's nice because I don't get the counter messy with the dirty beaters when I need to set the mixer down.

Not for heavy duty baking.
I liked this mixer until last week. We made cookies, put in the chocolate chips and the motor burned out. I've had this for almost 2 years so I can't say it was a total piece of junk, but I wish it lasted much longer. If your not using it for heavy duty baking - cookies, breads, etc. then your fine. But, I would spend more money on a better product if you ask me.
